Huis Baeyens is a well known costume designer from Belgium. I’ve been wanting to scan their clothing for ages, so finally I gathered all courage and approached them. Their response was positive and after initial arrangements we set off on scanning the first of more than 10 batches to follow.
In addition to renders in Marmoset Toolbag 4, I also made video Turntables. Everything is scripted in Python, using Marmoset’s Mset API.
Above are finished and colored 3D models. Before texturing one has to cleanup the mesh. Results of that process can be seen below:
All in all, close to 300 outfits were scanned over the course of 5 months. It took a massive effort from both the team at Huis Baeyens and me. But we managed. The 3D scanned clothing is available for purchase on Polygonal Miniatures. The clothing can be used in Non-Commercial and Personal projects as sold. For commercial licensing, contact Huis Baeyens.
I hope you enjoyed this little exposition. Until next time!
